CYENS is the Research Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Cyprus in the area of Information and Communication Technologies focusing on Interactive media, Smart systems and Emerging technologies. The Centre of Excellence fosters world-class research activities and at the same time aims to serve as a paradigm for bridging scientific research with innovation outside academia. It is a joint venture between the three public universities of Cyprus (University of Cyprus, Cyprus University of Technology, Open University of Cyprus), the Municipality of Nicosia, and two renowned international partners, the Max Planck Institute for Informatics (Germany) and University College London (UK). CYENS CoE is designed to act as an integrator of academic research and innovation, towards the sustainable fuelling of scientific, technological, and economic growth of Cyprus and Europe, empowering knowledge and technology transfer in the region. CYENS CoE consists of three Research Pillars (RP) representing the three main research areas of Visual Sciences, Human Factors and Design, and Communication and Artificial Intelligence.

GDA Sports is a Cypriot-based SME. It has developed and implements the Mental Fitness Project, an initiative grounded in scientific evidence and international best practices. This endeavour aims to support a positive and supportive environment for mental well-being within the sports ecosystem of Cyprus. At the heart of the Mental Fitness Project lies a vision where mental health is recognized, nurtured, served, and safeguarded as an integral individual asset and societal good. To realize this vision, GDA Sports has spearheaded highly successful Mental Health Conferences in Sports, where the last was held in November 2023.These conferences brought together a diverse range of stakeholders from the sports community, including sports federations and governing bodies, institutional bodies responsible for sports governance, academicians and researchers specializing in sports psychology and mental health, psychologists, psychiatrists, and sports psychologists, gymnasts and physical education teachers, policymakers and politicians, and lastly mass media representatives. GDA Sports’ commitment to mental health in sports extends beyond its conferences. The organization also organizes a range of other initiatives, including workshops, seminars, and training programs, to equip athletes, coaches, and parents with the knowledge and tools to promote mental well-being in their sporting endeavours.

INQUIRY FUSE is a multidisciplinary development, research, and outreach centre dedicated to engaging student populations and the wider public in meaningful formal, non-formal, and informal learning experiences through innovative, research-driven educational solutions and actions. Capitalising on research outcomes, INQUIRY FUSE operates at the intersection of knowledge creation, learning design, and societal engagement. The team specialises in Science and STEAM Education, Sport and Exercise Science, Sport Sociology, Physical Education, and Educational Technologies. INQUIRY FUSE envisions the cultivation of multiliteracies, with a particular emphasis on scientific, physical, digital, and environmental literacy, alongside the development of 21st-century skills necessary for a democratic, inclusive, and healthy society. Its work seeks synergies that generate novelty and an authentic societal footprint, promoting a signature of humanity through body and mind while driving educational and social change. INQUIRY FUSE’s multifaceted work falls into four main categories. First, EU-funded projects, where the team demonstrates cumulative expertise in the design, development, management, and coordination of projects under several EU funding schemes, with a strong focus on tangible societal impact. Second, educational research, employing mixed methods to support state-of-the-art analysis, research interventions, evaluation, impact assessment, and policy design. Third, learning design and assessment, involving the creation of inclusive curricula and programmes, aimed at cultivating scientific, digital, physical, and environmental literacy across educational levels. Fourth, training and capacity building, delivering tailored programmes that equip individuals and organisations with knowledge, skills, and attitudes, particularly in STEM engagement and healthy, active lifestyles. Across formal and informal contexts, INQUIRY FUSE demonstrates strong capacity in instructional design, digital pedagogies, gamification, participatory methodologies, contemporary learning approaches, and the development of innovative curricula, training materials, and skills progression frameworks.

Symplexis is a Greek non-for-profit organization that works to ensure equal opportunities for all through actions and measures that build skills, empower and promote active engagement and participation. It fosters the inclusion of disadvantaged groups at risk of marginalization and exclusion, while promoting and protecting the rights of those that face discrimination focusing on the empowerment and support of victims, awareness raising and information sharing at all levels. Symplexis also works to support the psychological, physical, and social development of children and youth, in an effort to build both personal and community resilience that help reduce youth poverty, promote child protection and stimulate social inclusion and development. The organisation employs 25 people and has more than 10 active volunteers, also maintaining a wide network of collaborating organisations not only in Greece, but across the EU.

CESIE is a European centre of studies and initiatives established in 2001, inspired by the work and theories of sociologist Danilo Dolci (1924-1997). CESIE’s mission is to promote educational innovation, participation, and growth, through the work of its 6 Units: Migration, School, Adults, Youth, Higher Education and Research, Rights and Justice. The Rights and Justice Unit aims to: promote gender equality & rights awareness in education, in the workplace, in support services, in project design and implementation; prevent violence with focus on gender-based violence and support to victims and survivors; defend children’s rights & participation and prevent child abuse; prevent online and offline offending and criminal behaviours and radicalization. CESIE staff is composed of 73 people 27-42 years old (54 female staff and 19 male staff members) with a wide range of qualifications, skills, and professional profiles, united by a deep sharing of ideals that lead CESIE activities.

The Development Planning, Tourism, Culture, Sports and New Technologies of the Regional Government of Thessaly (RoT)

RoT is a governmental public authority in Greece focusing mainly on rural development, economic growth, and employment, sustainability of tourism and improvement of the region’s infrastructure. In particular among its priorities are the participation in EU initiatives for the integration of immigrants, improvement of the competitiveness of products and services of Thessaly through digital convergence, amelioration of the region’s infrastructure and establishment of a dense transport network. The ESPA Thessaly 2021-2027 program with a total budget of 30 million euros, from the new school year 2023-2024 and for the next five school years which includes: the recruitment of substitute teachers, school nurses and special support staff for learning support in the classroom for students with disabilities or special educational needs, in 280 preschool, primary and secondary education units in Thessaly and for the recruitment of teachers and special educational staff for the staffing of the Interdisciplinary Assessment, Counselling and Support Centres (KEDASY), in which the diagnostic assessment of the special educational needs of male and female students is carried out. The region of Thessaly prioritizes equal access to school knowledge and equally valuable socialization within the school environment for children in the region.
